DESCRIPTION
Space Cowboy is a 2D top-down shooter game where you control a cowboy trapped in the space. Hostile aliens are attacking you from all corners, and you need to survive for an amount of time until the doors to the exit are open. You then need to locate the escape room, get in your UFO and get out!
MECHANICS
Objective
Your main is objective is to survive 90 seconds within a confined space: All kinds of enemies will try to kill you in the meantime. You're given a set of projectiles to defend yourself against them. Once the timer runs out, you have to locate the Escape Room, get in the UFO and get out of there! (The doors will still be locked, if you find the Escape Room before the timer runs out)
Projectiles
You have different types of projectiles in your gun. You start with 20 Normal Bullets, but your enemies drop more when they are killed. Some of the projectiles are:
Bullet - The default and most common projectile, dropped by all enemies. It damages only one enemy and deals standard damage. You start the game with 20 of these.
Arrow - Rarer than normal bullets. It pierces your enemies and can damage up to 3 enemies. Deals the same damage as normal bullets.
Boomerang - Richochets off of walls, objects and enemies. Can survive up to 6 collisions and damage multiple enemies this way. Standard damage.
Cannonball - Deals a lot of damage to one enemy, and pushes multiple enemies back at the same time. Useful for pusing enemies out of firing range.
Bomb - Deals heavy damage to multiple enemies at once and knocks them back. Very hard to find, but the explosion effects are very cool
Enemies
There are various kinds of enemies (Slimes, Robo-Cows and more). They also have their own guns and will try to shoot you. Some of them are faster and deal less damage, and some of them are heavier, slower but also deal a lot of damage. The enemies will be spawned on all corners of the levels and come to get you, so stay alert and watch out!
Random Effects
Every 15 seconds, a random effect will be applied to your character that makes it hard for you to play, and make the game unstable. Some of them are:
Earthquake - Your screen will start shaking, and aiming will get harder
Blindness - Your screen will get darker, and only a small area around your character will be visible. All other objects and enemies will keep hunting you from the dark.
Inverted Controls - All of your controls will get inverted. (W swapped with S, A swapped with S, Q swapped with E, etc.)
And more! You can keep track of the current effect applied at the top of your screen.
